Tour Highlights

This walking tour takes you on a journey through the central city visiting eateries and dining halls. 

You will get to see what the city went through before, during and after the earthquakes and how it has adapted to post quake life, all from the view point of our food culture. 

Visit old buildings made new and see the lengths Christchurch people went to in order to keep their business open.

Welles Street

This iconic building has had many uses in the past century, its latest incarnation is a spectacular dining hall were you will try a selection of local craft beers and their special platter.

The re-start mall

The re-start mall got the heart of the central city pumping again. You will visit on of the original vendors of the re-start mall in their new location and learn the story of the "container mall" plus try something a little different and diverse to eat.

Smash Palace

To continue trading Cantabrians went to great lengths, even converting an old bus into one of the most popular bars in the city.

Little High

The hustle and bustle of a purpose built dining location that offers so many selections it will have you returning time and time again.

Start/Pick up point

You will meet your tour guide on the corner of Manchester and Welles Street. Please be there 5 minutes before the tour starts.

Cancelation Policy

You are entitled to cancel this booking at any time prior to seven (7) days prior of the date for the delivery of the Tour and receive a full refund from FLGL.  

Requirements

This is a walking tour so suitable foot ware is required.
Some video content will accompany the tour, a smart phone with a QR reader app is necessary.
